Hog Roast Standish is undoubtedly best-known for our cracking hog roasts – I mean, it’s in the name, after all! But it might surprise you to know that our service isn’t limited to just hog roasts – far from it!
While for us, there’s nothing more appealing to the senses than a pig that’s been lovingly slow-roasted for several hours in order to create an abundance of blissfully tasty crackling and irresistibly tender pulled pork, we also understand that not everyone shares our passion for this ancient cooking tradition. And recognising that variety is the key to long-term customer satisfaction, Hog Roast Standish has worked extremely hard to curate a comprehensive portfolio, which proudly features a broad selection of different meat options, including, but not limited to, lamb, chicken, beef, turkey and fish.
In addition to offering these high-quality, free-range and locally-sourced meats, which ensure we can cater to every set of taste buds, Hog Roast Standish also offers a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. So you won’t need to worry about calling in the help of a second catering service to handle the needs of those guests who have stricter dietary requirements – we’ll make sure everyone is taken care of!
Our clients are always delighted to hear about the abundance of options we have here, and just last week, our catering manager, Sophie, had the privilege of assisting Catriona and Ben with their intimate wedding celebrations.
For their small and cosy nuptials, the bride and groom had asked Hog Roast Standish to serve a pig-free version of our popular Alfresco Menu. Instead of the hog roast, the couple had chosen to have us serve whole-roasted free-range turkey with sage butter, sage and onion stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce, with a meat-free alternative of grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with tangy sweet chilli sauce, tzatziki dip and flatbreads available for the veggies and vegans.
Sophie completed this tantalisingly tasty buffet with a choice of fresh-made salads, a rich and creamy coleslaw, classic Caesar salad, roasted new potatoes and Italian-inspired antipasti platters that were filled to the brim with cold-cut meats, cheeses, olives, sundried tomatoes and more.
The wedding party were amazed by the feast our team served on the day, and before packing up, Hog Roast Standish presented the guests with one last treat: a slice of Catriona and Ben’s wedding cake, which they had dressed in fresh cream, berries and a coulis of summer fruits.
