Wedding season might still be a few months away, but love waits for no calendar! Across the North West, couples are exchanging vows and celebrating in style, and Hog Roast Colne has been at the heart of it all, delivering unforgettable wedding breakfasts at some of the region’s most breathtaking venues. From rustic barns to luxurious manor houses and chic hotels, we’ve had the privilege of playing a delicious role in these joyous occasions.
Recently, we found ourselves catering at a venue that truly stood out. Is it a brewery? A distillery? An event space? The answer: all three! This stunning, rustic-meets-industrial gem provided the perfect backdrop for Angie and Thomas’s wedding day. With its vaulted ceilings draped in flowing fabric and floral garlands, the venue exuded charm. Rustic wooden tables and chairs set the scene, but it was the couple’s personal touches – handmade centrepieces and twinkling fairy lights – that transformed the space into a reflection of their love story.
Hog Roast Colne’s team seamlessly blended into this quirky setting, setting up our catering equipment in a discreet corner and getting straight to work on our Southern Slow Roast Menu. At the heart of this feast was a tantalising trio of slow-roasted meats: Cajun-spiced whole-roast chickens, Texan-style beef brisket, and BBQ pork butt, each cooked low and slow to mouth-watering perfection. For the non-meat-eaters, we whipped up BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with zesty coleslaw, alongside a medley of inclusive side dishes that comprised buttery corn cobbettes, creamy potato salad, Greek salad, and a mix of sweet potato and traditional fries. Served on eco-friendly bamboo plates with matching cutlery, the meal perfectly complemented the venue’s rustic vibe.
Guests couldn’t get enough, with many returning to our station for seconds (and thirds!). Meanwhile, the live band kept the dance floor packed, and a bouncy castle entertained the kids. A photo booth and sweet cart added even more fun to an already electric atmosphere.
For Hog Roast Colne, it was an honour to cater such a vibrant and love-filled event. Angie and Thomas’s joy was palpable, and their glowing feedback made our day. Here’s to many more weddings, many more smiles, and many more delicious memories in the making!
