Here at Hog Roast Tockholes, we love helping people get together with good company and even better food! Julie’s 60th Birthday party celebrations provided the perfect opportunity for us to do what we love. With an impressive guest list of family and friends, this was set to be an event to remember.
Our venue for the day was Julie’s family home which had plenty of outdoor space for everyone to enjoy the rolling hill views which had been decorated with a sprinkling of frost. We arrived at 10 am in order to get everything set up before the guests arrived and to ensure the food was well underway to greet the guests with the mouth-watering aroma of our Hog Roast Tockholes. Having set up our gazebo on the patio, we began to prepare the day’s food: our Hog Roast Tockholes buffet served with our signature apple sauce with new potatoes in herb butter and burgers for the children and grandchildren.
Just as the guests were arriving at 2 pm, the weather started to turn to torrential rain, but we didn’t let that deter us! We were able to continue the cooking outdoors in our trusty gazebo but bring the serving inside to the delight of Julie and her guests.
The spit-roasted pig served with our delicious apple sauce, stuffing and crackling went down a treat, with many people coming back for seconds or even thirds. The vegetarians were certainly not forgotten about as our chef had made a beautiful vegetable tart served with a selection of our homemade sauces, not to mention the two salads we had freshly prepared to Julie’s taste.
Once the rain had cleared and we had finished serving we were able to discretely clean up and pack away, leaving the guests to enjoy the rest of their afternoon. All in all and despite the ever unpredictable British weather, the event was enjoyed by all especially Julie who thanked us for helping her celebrate her landmark birthday in style.
