Ah, Christmas. The season of joy, giving, and, for many December-born individuals, the season of missing out on the full birthday experience. If you’re one of those with a birthday smack dab in the middle of December, you know the struggle. Between everyone being preoccupied with holiday plans and receiving gifts that double up as both Christmas and birthday presents, it’s easy to feel like your special day is getting the short end of the holiday stick.
Dana knows this all too well. With her birthday falling right before Christmas, she’s had to put up with people cancelling or forgetting to celebrate altogether. It’s disheartening to say the least. But Dana’s husband, Carl, wasn’t about to let his wife feel overlooked, especially with her milestone 40th birthday approaching. He was determined to make sure Dana had the kind of celebration she deserved – one that wasn’t shadowed by tinsel and Christmas carols.
In a heartfelt, yet sneaky move, Carl decided to throw Dana a surprise party the week before her birthday to avoid any holiday-related distractions. With the help of their teenage kids, Carl meticulously planned every detail of the event – from the guest list to the venue, ensuring everything would be perfect.
To make the day even more special, Carl booked their favourite local bar and hired Hog Roast Salford to cater the event. Our Southern Slow Roast Menu was the perfect choice to set the tone for the night. We arrived hours early to slow-roast a spread that would impress even the most discerning foodies. Think melt-in-your-mouth BBQ pork butt, tender Texan beef brisket, and sticky Louisiana pork ribs, with a side of creamy mac and cheese, potato salad, sweet potato fries, and more! We even had a vegan BBQ-pulled jackfruit option – something for all 100 guests.
Carl’s covert mission was a complete success. The decorations were on point, and Hog Roast Salford’s menu was absolutely the star of the show. Dana was over the moon, not only for the thoughtful surprise but for the chance to be the centre of attention on her special day.
