Upon graduating high school, some students will vow to never walk the grey lino floors again if they don’t have to. As for others, the chance to reunite with fellow classmates can’t come soon enough! Every five or even ten years, former students will come together to catch up, reminisce on high school experiences and share stories from life’s most recent adventures. These reunions are undoubtedly a big hit and draw interest from dozens, if not hundreds, of former pupils.
But these types of events aren’t just fun for the guests; they’re also enjoyable for the Hog Roast Ashton Under Lyne gang! Being caught up in a lively and excitable atmosphere and having the opportunity to share our food with a large group of people is something we always take great pleasure in. So, when Miranda asked us if we were free to cater for her school’s class of 2000 reunion event, we were thrilled!
This event was originally planned to go ahead back in December, but due to a burst pipe in the building, the event had to be rescheduled and ended up taking place last weekend. Fortunately, our diary was clear that day, so making the last-minute switch wasn’t a problem at all for Hog Roast Ashton Under Lyne’s caterers.
On Saturday afternoon, hours before the event was scheduled to start, our catering manager, Sophie, headed to the school where, upon arrival, she and the team began setting up our cooking equipment, serving tables and dining furniture in preparation for the guests. Making every second count, the Hog Roast Ashton Under Lyne team launched themselves into cooking the full-size pig, a full selection of side salads, mixed fries, gourmet coleslaw, and a meat-free option of BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls for the veggie/vegan guests.
Our caterers also set out a basket of rolls and wraps for guests to help themselves, along with a savoury snacks table and a drinks buffet of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, which had been supplied by the client.
The guests who attended this awesome celebration did so wearing authentic noughties attire, which matched the wildly colourful party decorations that Miranda had picked out. Everyone seemed really happy to see each other after so many years and were excited to catch up over our irresistible hog roast rolls.
