Hog Roast Burnley stayed local to cater for a cosy corporate event at the start of October after being hired by GRC Engineering’s Company Director, Danny, to take care of the food at their recent workplace event.
Like many businesses this past year, the family-run engineering firm had been extremely busy throughout the pandemic, so when things calmed down, the client decided to throw a party to celebrate all of the team’s hard work and successful projects. On this occasion, our catering manager, Sophie, was in charge of the celebration, and as always, her first port of call was assisting the client with choosing the perfect menu.
After going over each of our dining plans with Danny, it was quickly decided that our Classic Hog Roast Menu would be the most fitting choice for the occasion. With no vegetarians or vegans among the group of 40 employees, the client was also happy for us to only serve our iconic hog roast rolls alongside our deliciously creamy homemade coleslaw, a mixture of sweet potato and regular fries and gluten-free baps.
To ensure the food would be ready for the 12 pm serving time, Hog Roast Burnley arrived at the client’s premises several hours before lunch, and with no time to waste, they hastened to prep the fresh, free-range pig, which before too long was left to sizzle away in the HogMaster atop a batch of our famed sage and onion stuffing. While the meat was cooking, Sophie and the crew used their remaining time to whip up a large batch of handmade applesauce, which they set out on the table beside a row of condiments, dips and the sides.
Danny was super impressed with Hog Roast Burnley’s unrivalled organisational skills and the professionalism our team exuded on the day, which culminated in a fabulous feast that the entire GRC Engineering crew couldn’t get enough of. The whole team seemed to thoroughly enjoy the food on offer, so much so that many of them asked for our team to refill their empty plates, which was a massive compliment for Sophie and the crew!
