At Hog Roast Chester, we get the luxury of visiting some of the most beautiful locations across the country, all thanks to our amazing clients. And, recently, we found ourselves at the stunning Carreglwyd Estate for a wedding that truly knocked our socks off!
Dating back to 1634, this historic venue has seen its fair share of love stories, but the wedding we were hired to cater for earlier this month was something truly unique. The happy couple transformed the barn into a cosy autumn wonderland, complete with rustic wooden tables and chairs draped in rich vermillion and cream accents. Gorgeous orange flower arrangements popped against the backdrop, and the pumpkin table centrepieces added just the right amount of seasonal flair. As fairy lights twinkled above, the ambience felt magical!
Outside, the couple’s ‘order of the day’ was cleverly printed on a repurposed pallet, adding a fun twist to their celebration. Even the wedding cake was a showstopper—a naked three-tier sponge cake displayed on a rustic barrel, surrounded by pumpkins and hay bales. It was clear that every detail was carefully thought out to reflect the couple’s love and the beauty of the season.
Now, onto the best part— the food! As the clock struck 3:45 PM, Hog Roast Chester unveiled a feast that made even the pickiest eaters drool. We kicked things off with a delightful selection of canapés presented on stylish bamboo platters, which set the tone for the appetising feast to come.
Following the canapés, guests enjoyed a hearty roast beef dinner featuring mustard-brushed beef, golden Yorkshire puddings, and rich red wine gravy. A vibrant medley of seasonal vegetables added colour and taste, while the younger guests delighted in chicken nuggets and freshly made chips.
Later in the evening, Hog Roast Chester presented our legendary hog roast to the group. With crispy crackling, savoury stuffing, and a dollop of applesauce, it was the perfect dish to keep the celebration going. Guests were all smiles, stuffing their faces while soaking in the joyful atmosphere and watching a dazzling fireworks display light up the night sky.
To top it all off, we served dreamy strawberry cheesecakes and sticky toffee puddings for dessert, much to the delight of everyone—especially the father of the bride, whose infectious excitement made our day even more amazing!
