You’ve heard of Christmas, but have you ever heard of Dogmas? No? Neither had we—until Ivy, one of our newest clients, invited Hog Roast Manchester to cater for her doggy-friendly Christmas extravaganza. And let us tell you, it was pawsitively magical!
The concept behind Dogmas was as heartwarming as it was brilliant: dogs are family, so why shouldn’t they have their own holiday celebration? Ivy’s vision was to throw a festive party that put furry friends front and centre while making sure their humans had just as much fun. Spoiler alert: she nailed it!
From the moment guests arrived, the event was brimming with tail-wagging excitement. A custom play area kept the dogs entertained with enrichment toys galore, while their humans joined them at a craft station to create adorable keepsakes. Santa’s grotto? A runaway hit! Every good boy and girl walked away with a festive gift and Instagram-worthy photos. Add to that rows of shopping stalls stocked with trinkets and treats, and you had a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration. As for the grand finale? A festive lunch, of course!
While the pups devoured their pet-friendly meals, Hog Roast Manchester was tasked with serving up something spectacular for the human guests. Known across the North West for delivering the region’s finest hog roasts, we arrived bright and early, ready to bring our A-game. With 100 tickets sold out, we knew the pressure was on—but so was our excitement!
Our centrepiece? A free-range hog, slow-roasted to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy, and the crackling? So crisp, you’d think it was soundtracked by ASMR. Watching the crowd’s delight as our catering manager carved into the golden, crispy skin was a highlight in itself.
Plates were piled high with succulent pork, crispy crackling, stuffing, and applesauce, served alongside cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, roasties, glazed veg, and rich gravy. It was the kind of meal that hugs your taste buds and warms your heart.
By the end of the day, our food had earned rave reviews from humans and, we suspect, a few sneaky pups who managed to snag a taste. Dogmas was a barking success, and Hog Roast Manchester was proud to be part of it. Here’s to more paw-some events like this!
